About the event

On Saturday, 24 October, MEP invites you to a new seasonal tea gathering with Sōbo Mulan Sun, architect ETH and Tea Master of the Urasenke Tea School.

This tea ceremony takes place during a moment of transition.

In the Japanese tea calendar, October marks the passage from the furo season — when the portable brazier is used during the warmer months — towards the ro season, when the sunken hearth returns in winter. It is a subtle but important shift in the practice of tea: the arrangement of the room changes, the movement of the host changes, and the atmosphere of the gathering begins to turn inward.

At the same time, late October in Switzerland also marks the transition from summer time to winter time. The days become shorter, the light changes, and the body slowly adjusts to a different rhythm.

For this occasion, Sōbo Mulan Sun will return to MEP…
